Engr. H. A. Igbokwe joined the services of National Electric Power Authority (now Power Holding Company of Nigeria) in 1979 and worked as a Thermal Plant Operator in Sapele Power Station till he went back to school for higher studies. He came back to PHCN after graduating with a Bachelor of Engineering.
He thereafter continued his career in the Distribution Sector of the industry.
In year 2000, he was redeployed to Corporate Headquarters to head the Technical Audit Team of the then management of NEPA. He functioned in this capacity till 2005 before proceeding to head the marketing department in Aba Business Unit of the defunct Enugu Distribution Zone. He rose to become Business Manager and functioned in many Business Units before retiring in 2012.
In the course of his career, he gathered a lot of experience, expertise and proficiency in the following skills:
- Electrical network system planning
- Electrical network system management
- Electrical network system metering
- Electrical network system audit
- Electrical network system project design and management
- Operation of Thermal Power Plants; etc.
He is a member of the following professional bodies:
- Member, Nigerian Society of Engineers
- Fellow, Institute of Corporate Administration
- Registered with COREN
