Engr. O. A. Gyibrilla graduated from the University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He joined the services of National Electric Power Authority as a Pupil Engineer in 1981 and successfully completed the two-year program in 1983. During the pupilage, he went through extensive on the job training in the Distribution, Transmission and Generation sectors of the Authority.

Upon finishing the pupillage program, he was posted to Osogbo Area Transmission where he was engaged in performance of the following duties:

  • Calibration of distance relays;
  • Installation and commissioning of High Voltage and Medium Voltage transformers.

Szotyola Energy comes up with results that are actually implementable in peculiar situations and greographical areas. That is their strength compared to other energy services providers.

He later rose to the position of Principal Engineer, a middle-level supervisory position in the erstwhile NEPA, and continued his career in Protection and Control while also being actively engaged in rehabilitation, installation, and commission of High Voltage Transformers and switchgear and transmission lines.

He retired from the services of NEPA in 2000 and thereafter worked in very senior positions in different companies. He, later on, went into private consultancy before joining Szotyola Energy in 2013.
